SECOND PHASE OF NEVA TOWERS PROJECT CERTIFIED FOR LEED GOLD
The second phase of Neva Towers MFC in Moscow-City has been awarded a LEED Gold Certificate. Thus, Neva Towers has become the first large-scale MFC to obtain that golden status.
LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a worldwide acknowledged buildings certification program intended to confirm application of the most efficient and environment-friendly methods in design and construction. The LEED system has been developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The LEED-certified buildings are supposed to have 25% lower energy consumption and 19% lower operational costs, than the statistically average buildings. Furthermore, the buildings awarded the Gold-level certificate stand out considerably in terms of energy efficiency.
The LEED v4 version is the most recognizable and one of the most tough green building certification systems in the world. Property certification in accordance with the LEED system is adopted as a mandatory policy by many leading companies of the world – such as Google, L’Oréal, Starbucks, Adobe, Siemens, Deutsche Bank, Mars, etc.
